2.5D Fiber Laser Engraving Machine

2.5D Laser Engraving Machine with Precise Worktable

The 2.5D fiber laser engraving machine excels in intricate relief engraving, 3D textures, and detailed surface processing, creating detailed 3D-like effects on various materials. Precise laser power and Z-axis/worktable control enable variable depth etching for a simulated three-dimensional appearance. Beyond relief engraving, it’s suitable for marking metals (copper, iron, steel, stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, gold, silver, brass, alloys) and certain non-metallic materials like ABS. Applications include product serial numbers, technical specifications, company logos on metal components, and decorative patterns on ABS plastic parts.

Product Description

Worktable Features

  • High-precision ball screw or fine-ground lead screw transmission, paired with precision cross-roller guides.

  • Wedge-type lifting mechanism ensures smooth motion and high vertical positioning accuracy.

  • Equipped with photoelectric sensor for zero-point positioning and limit switches at both ends.

Machine Features

  • External Z-Axis Worktable – Allows for adjustable height control, ensuring precise depth engraving for 3D reliefs and layered textures.
  • High-Speed Fiber Laser Source – Delivers fine details, smooth gradients, and deep engraving with exceptional accuracy.
  • 2.5D Dynamic Focus – Enables variable depth control for realistic 3D-like engravings on flat and contoured surfaces.
  • Wide Material Compatibility – Perfect for metals (stainless steel, aluminum, gold), plastics, ceramics, and coated materials.
  • User-Friendly Software – Supports 3D relief design conversion and seamless file integration (AI, DXF, BMP, etc.).
  • EzCAD 3 or LightBurn Pro Dedicated 2.5D Module: Converts 3D models (STL, OBJ) or grayscale images (BMP, JPG) into layered depth maps for realistic relief engraving.

Basic 2.5D Engraving: Step-by-Step Workflow

1. Prepare Your Design

  • Input: Use a grayscale image (JPEG/BMP) or 3D model (STL/OBJ).

2. Import & Configure in Software
Open file in laser software (e.g., EzCAD 3).

  • Set Depth Parameters:
    • Define Min Depth (e.g., 0.1mm for subtle textures).
    • Define Max Depth (e.g., 3mm for bold relief).
  • Enable 2.5D Mode: Software auto-converts grayscale into a “depth map.”

3. Mount Material & Set Z-Axis

  • For Flat Work:
    • Secure material on the aluminum worktable.
    • Calibrate external Z-axis:
      • Set “Z-zero” at material surface.
      • Input material thickness (e.g., 10mm acrylic).
  • For Cylindrical Objects (e.g., tumblers):
    • Attach to rotating column.
    • Input object diameter → software auto-calculates rotation speed.

4. Generate Toolpaths & Start Engraving
Software slices the design into depth layers (e.g., 0.05mm increments).

  • Machine Actions:
    • Step A: Laser engraves lightest gray areas (shallow depth) at high speed.
    • Step B: Z-axis lowers worktable by 1 layer depth (e.g., 0.05mm).
    • Step C: Laser re-engraves medium-gray areas at new depth.
    • Step D: Repeat until darkest areas reach max depth.
(For rotary jobs: Column rotates continuously during steps A-D)

5. Finish & Inspect

  • Result: A tactile, 3D-like surface with smooth depth gradients.
